MN Adult & Teen Challenge Alexandria
Project Overview
Nor-Son constructed a new 60,399 square-foot campus on the shores of beautiful Lake Winona for MN Adult & Teen Challenge. The all-wood framed structure included vaulted ceilings and an intricate truss layout with unique angles.
Due to delays in the truss system, the Nor-Son team separated the building into three parts to allow work to continue while other spaces remained exposed to the elements. The crew worked hard to erect temporary walls and prevent weather damage to areas where work was being done.
Beginning the project just before winter 2022, the $16M structure was completed by September 2024. Nor-Son overcame many challenging obstacles and finished a state-of-the-art treatment facility for MnTC that will withstand heavy use and stand the test of time, helping individuals break free from addiction for generations to come.
From Sam Anderson, Regional Director for MNTC:
“I have confidence in [Nor-Son’s] excellence and they’re honest. They kept the project moving forward … this building will be one of the finest, if not the finest teen challenge buildings in the world. Because of Nor-Son’s commitment to excellence and understanding our need for durability, they guided decisions that will enable this building to stand and provide healing for generations to come … This building will help individuals break free from addiction.”
