Lakewood Health Expansion
Project Overview
A comforting environment in healthcare, Lakewood Health expanded their Staples clinic with state-of-the-art equipment and a modern, comforting environment. This addition to the clinic provided more space for women’s and mental health departments. The emergency department added more treatment and trauma rooms, mental health rooms, and equipment. A new in-house MRI suite features advanced equipment for more comfort and accessibility.
There are always challenges working within a 24/7 operational facility. The expansion and renovation required the highest level of infection control planning to maintain operations running smoothly. Two trauma rooms in the emergency department had to remain operational with access to the X-ray room. Temporary walls with a double door were installed under infection control guidelines and the hall was maintained as clean space for trauma patients.
The project received an Excellence in Construction Eagle Award from the National Associated Builders and Contractors, the local industry’s highest honor.
