Chase on the Lake
Project Overview
We built a rejuvenating getaway in a place of a terrible fire in Walker, Minnesota. At Chase on the Lake there was a terrible fire and subsequent decay that left the ignored structure in disrepair. The client wanted to rescue the historic structure and tie into a new addition and conference center to open for summer crowds. Nor-Son had to rebuild this expansive resort, shoring it up, straightening it and reinforcing it from the inside.
A restrictive site required creative techniques. This site was on a lake, in town, and on a hill which did not allow for much room. We utilized off-site storage, staged materials, delivery, installed fences and barricades for public safety and even redirected traffic to get the large trucks through the small town streets safely. To protect the lake and prevent soil erosion, Nor-Son obtained DNR permits to install silt fencing and rip-wrap.
The resulting resort included classic rooms with microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, table and chairs. The resort also built Lakeside rooms and multi-room condos featuring living rooms, full kitchens, fireplaces and balconies.
