Cuyuna Regional Medical Center OR Expansion

Project Overview

Expanding Demands of Rural Healthcare. Keeping up with increasing demands for healthcare near client’s vacation or retirement homes has led to multiple addition to the 1962 medical center. With an increased need for operating room space, the hospital was landlocked in expanding the footprint. The solution was to expand the OR Suite to a 13,000 square foot, unfinished administrative area, slated in a previous addition.

Construction in Fully Operational Hospital. Working below a fully operational hospital required careful scheduling, constant communication and quality management of all primary subcontractors and suppliers. Noise and disruption as well as infection control were prime concerns. Air was monitored and cleaned constantly. The work space was kept at negative air pressure and monitored with an alarm system connected to a mobile app should the pressure be compromised.
